The rising importance of digital infrastructure not only in Africa but also across the world is plagued with its required energy consumption and associated carbon footprint. Digital power innovations help ISPs improve efficiency and smarten up facilities. Done well, these innovations help both telecom and tower carriers simplify aspects like facility deployment, improve power reliability, increase energy efficiency and make O&M easy enabling ICT networks to evolve and scale with lower costs and improved efficiency.
Session Objective:
  • Create awareness for governments and private sectors on the role of digital power innovations in digital infrastructure
  • Highlight ways to scale digital infrastructure with the advantage of innovations in digital power
  • Inform policy around digital infrastructure
Expected outcomes and specific outputs:
  • Audience appraisal on role of power innovations for the digital infrastructure
