The proposed session will focus on how to effectively mainstream gender considerations in the African cybersecurity agenda. The session will address issues such as the gender dimensions cyberviolence, cyber bullying, cyber harassment and violent extremism online, including discussing how the region can effectively empower women for cybersecurity through laws and policies, as well as advance the cybersecurity skills and knowledge of African women and girls. The session will also discuss approaches for the application of gender perspectives to cybersecurity, as well as what kinds of action are needed to effectively implement a gender approach to cybersecurity in the region.
